At DanceTown, we introduce children to the world of dance through stories and creative imagination. We utilize their natural urge to move to gradually improve their posture, flexibility, musicality and coordination and to express their creative ideas. From the very first lesson, the classical dance ABC is an essential part of the class, which helps the children to develop a clear body awareness.
As they get older, more and more modern dance elements are incorporated into the lessons. The children learn simple combinations, which they put together into small choreographies using their own ideas. This not only encourages their creative thinking, but is also fun and boosts their self-confidence.
Normal socks or training slippers with suede soles are recommended for the lessons, please do not use rubber soles!
Jazz dance at DanceTown is expressive and multi-faceted. Our classes encompass everything from flowing movements to dynamic leaps and precise turns. The rich background of jazz, which combines elements of African-American dance, ballet, modern dance and contemporary, offers unlimited possibilities. Whether a Broadway musical number, modern stage show or choreography for current video clips - jazz provides the perfect foundation.
Our jazz lessons are structured: they begin with a warm-up that includes technique, strength and stretching, followed by exercises on the diagonal and ending with choreography. This enables each dancer to systematically expand and consolidate their repertoire of movements.
We recommend socks or special training shoes/slippers with suede soles for the lessons. Sneakers are only suitable for Jazz Urban Style.
Hip hop is more than just dance - it's a culture that grew out of rap music, graffiti art and dynamic movements. Rooted in well-defined moves and steps, this dance style is constantly evolving and never limits us.
Anyone who dances hip hop immerses themselves in a world in which every movement radiates coolness and power. The relaxed attitude and the strong sense of rhythm are the soul of hip hop. Once you have become familiar with this way of life, it will remain a part of you.
We recommend wearing sneakers for class.
Ballet is the basis for all impressive dance performances, from perfectly executed pirouettes to breathtaking jumps and dynamic dance sequences. This demanding dance style sharpens body awareness and brings clarity to every movement.
Ballet is not only essential for aspiring professionals, but also offers valuable training elements to every dance enthusiast, be it as a solid foundation or as supplementary training.
For ballet training, we recommend special ballet training slippers with suede soles.
Breaking, which originated on the streets of New York, is an integral part of hip hop culture, developed in the early 1970s by African- and Puerto-American youth in Manhattan and the South Bronx. This energetic dance style is typically danced to pop, funk or hip hop music, often in the form of remixes.
Today, breaking is a globally recognized and popular dance form that allows every dancer to develop their own, distinctive style - from simple basic steps to complex, acrobatic moves.
For training and performances, we recommend wearing sneakers or indoor shoes.
